HeadWatcherTM
An Apparatus To Aid Golfers Achieve A Consistent Golf Swing
Background of the Invention
Golf is a challenging game that requires years of practice to master. Golfers of all skill
levels hire professional instructors to coach them through the fundamental aspects of the
game and to help them refine their golf swing. One point that is stressed by all golf
instructors is the importance of keeping your head in a steady position before and after
the ball is struck. Though golfers are instructed not to move their head before and after
their shots, it is often difficult for golfers to follow this simple instruction.
There are several prior arts that help the golfer reduce excessive head movement.
However, most are expensive and bulky, and cannot be used on the driving range,
fairway, and putting green.
Summary of the Present Invention
The HeadWatcherTM is a portable device that is the size of a keyless-entry car security
system and weighs only 0.6 oz. It can be used on the driving range, fairway, and putting
green. Placed only a few inches away from the ball, the HeadWatcherTM picks up the
sound of the ball-club head impact and immediately flashes a red light. Golfers can keep
their head down during their swing by waiting to catch this light before looking up to see
their shot. Such a tool helps golfers improve the consistency and quality of their golf
swing.
